Emergency. You want, nay NEED, hot chocolate. It’s been snowing all day and you can’t leave the house but you absolutely must have a steaming mug of chocolatey goodness STAT. What do you do??
You look in your pantry, that’s what you do. I bet you have all the makings for some hot chocolate right on hand. This little concoction is better than any store bought version you can buy. Promise.
Make one or two mugs, or if you want to give this away to friends, mix up a larger batch and put them in cute mason jars tied with ribbons. You can put instructions or let them know to mix about 2 heaping tablespoons per steaming mug of milk.
Here’s the ingredients for a larger batch (about three 12oz mason jars):
1 cup of cocoa (I use Hershey’s Special Dark)
2 cups of packed brown sugar (you can use white sugar but trust me on the brown, yo.)
1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon cardamom
1 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon salt
